Piedmont Neighborhood – Your New Home

Piedmont is situated just to the north of bustling Portland. With quick and easy access via I-5, downtown can be reached in a matter of minutes! If you’re looking for fun things to do, then look no further than the Mississippi district or Alberta Arts District – with plenty of unique stores and entertainment available.

Piedmont locals enjoy easy access to New Seasons Market, what seems like their own private light rail (the Max), a half dozen coffee shops and other independent businesses and restaurants in Piedmont proper and its surrounding neighborhoods. Portland Community College has done a great deal to revamp the area surrounding the school campus on Killingsworth and Albina. Area residents pride themselves on rebuilding both their homes and the community.

Portlanders are all too familiar with the beautiful Historic Mississippi, or Boise-Eliot neighborhood. Not only is there a plethora of amazing local businesses – like New Seasons Market, The Red Fox and Saraveza Beer Bottle Shop to name just a few – but they’re also surrounded by stunning green spaces such as Peninsula Park in Piedmont. This historic park has been rising up Portlanders’ backyards since 1906; it was even part of what earned our city its romantic nickname “City of Roses!”

The campus of Portland Community College is nearby, so there are quite a few college students living in Piedmont, giving the neighborhood an invigorating feeling of constant change. Other residents of Piedmont include old-timers, young families, and singles in their 20s and 30s. This working-class suburb offers affordable housing to those who want easy access to everything the city has to offer.
