Sabin Neighborhood – Your New Home
The Lindley Team at Mortgage Express | 503.517.8641
Welcome to Sabin, a beguiling Portland neighborhood with a fascinating history! Its homes range from the early 1900s all the way up through mid-century and beyond. It’s also one of city’s most diverse areas, home to people representing various ethnicities and economic backgrounds – plus it boasts an incredible sense of community revolving around its school & local businesses. To top things off, Alberta Arts borders Sabin on the north side – boasting enviable restaurants, art galleries & shops – while Fremont brings even more delicious options just southwards!
Sabin is very conveniently located in NE Portland, just North of Irving Park and the Irvington neighborhood, West of the Alameda neighborhood, along Fremont St. East of MLK.
There are well-preserved old houses and pretty gardens in this neighborhood. There are lots of big trees on many of the streets, and a feeling of peace and serenity with bikers and pedestrians enjoying the outdoors. It is surrounded by other prime neighborhoods, Irvington to the south, Alameda to the east, Concordia to the northeast and Alberta Arts District just north of it. Because Sabin is so close-in, starting at NE 10th and going to NE 23rd, the commute to downtown is easy. It’s also close to I-5 and 405, which you can catch from Alberta.
Residents of this charming neighborhood pride themselves on its sense of community, taking great care in protecting the beloved craftsman homes and classic bungalows. Always something going on for locals to enjoy just around their corner – from parks where kids play tag to a thriving Community Garden that’s graced 11th Avenue. You won’t have far too look if you crave some delicious eats or shopping excursions; Fremont Street packs plenty into one spot with an abundance of cafes, restaurants and shops! For convenience seekers out there Whole Foods Grocery is right down 15th Ave–like New Seasons but stocking only natural organic edibles ranging from sandwiches all the way up through salads and soups!
